One United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) peacekeeper has been killed and another critically injured in southern Lebanon.
The United Nations peacekeeping force said a projectile exploded near a UN position – they said the origin of the projectile is uncertain and have launched an investigation.

Kandice Ardeil is a spokesperson for UNIFIL. She says stronger security measures will need to be put in place to ensure the safety of their peacekeepers, or they will be forced to leave.
