Pakistan FM says Islamabad talks aim to bring early and permanent end to the Iran war
Videobeschreibung:
Pakistan is hosting fresh talks aimed at ending the war involving Iran, with Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt taking part.
Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said discussions focused on achieving an early and lasting peace, warning the war benefits no one.
Participants expressed concern over the devastating human and economic toll across the region.
The talks remain preliminary, described as “baby steps” following an earlier round in Riyadh.
Pakistan says it has the trust of both the United States and Iran and is willing to host further negotiations.
Despite ongoing escalation, diplomats say there are cautious signs of progress.
However, deep mistrust persists after previous negotiations were followed by renewed attacks.
Mediators aim to narrow differences and encourage dialogue based on the UN Charter.
